Forest Therapy also known as Sylvotherapy, derived from the Latin “sylva” meaning “forest,” is a traditional, non-medicinal approach to healing through interaction with the forest.
This practice, also referred to as shinrin yoku in Japanese, meaning “forest bathing,” has witnessed a notable surge in popularity in recent years. However, sylvotherapy is not limited to forest bathing alone.
While hugging trees or hiking in the forest are a part of it, there is much more to experience beyond these.
Today, numerous scientific studies support its positive effects on cardiovascular, immune, and mental health. Forest Therapy engages the senses and cognitive abilities, helping participants to sleep better, feel fitter, and listen to their intuition. Forest Therapy combines scientific and energetic approaches for a holistic approach to wellness.
All aspects of nature have served in my personal healing long before I realized such a thing as "forest therapy" existed. Somewhere along the journey, I coined the term "Earth Medicine" to encapsulate the profound healing that comes from these holy experiences with nature.
You'll find my offerings labeled as such.
As your guide in a one on one session, it's my job to meet you where you're at. All you have to do is arrive. No matter the hardships you're facing, the victories you're celebrating, or the weight of emotions you carry, the forest is waiting for you to lay it all down and be held.
With an individually curated mix of holistic, nature based practices, this sacred time in the wild will leave you feeling grounded, centered, and supported.
There are times we walk this path in solitude, and there are times we do so hand in hand. You'll find that I offer Earth Medicine group sessions regularly to the public (see events page), but if you're looking for something more intimate with just your bestie or most beloved, a private group experience might be calling your name. Reach out to inquire!
